A large hiatus hernia is present, and the GEJ is displaced into the thorax with a large portion of the stomach, causing oral contrast stasis. There are no frank signs of gastric volvulus, and finally, oral contrast passed into the distal stomach and duodenal loops.
Case Discussion
The mixed rolling and sliding hiatus hernia is the most common type of para oesophagal hernia. The GEJ is displaced into the thorax with a large portion of the stomach, increasing the risk for complications such as volvulus, obstruction, and ischemia.
