Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Female
mri

The MRI sequences demonstrate:

  • small well-defined rounded mass (diametre =10 mm) of right frontal location adjacent to the frontal horn. It displays a mixed-signal intensity centrally on both T1 and T2 with prominent blooming on gradient echo sequence. No surrounding edema or enhancement on postcontrast sequences

  • associated developmental venous anomaly (DVA) well-visualized on postcontrast sequences

  • no metastatic lesion is seen at the infra-or supratentorial level.

Case Discussion

MRI features typical of a mixed vascular malformation, which represents an association between cerebral cavernous venous malformation (cavernoma) and developmental venous anomaly (DVA). Incidental finding in this case.
