Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Female

The cecal pole reaches deep into the true pelvis and indents the urinary bladder.

Case Discussion

Abnormal mobility of the cecum and the lower ascending colon due to incomplete rotation of the hindgut and its incomplete fixation to the retroperitoneum is a common problem in pediatric surgery. It is rarely encountered in adults.
