Case Discussion

There is predominently anechoic lesion in subcutaneous plane of proximal thigh at greater trochanter level.

Well-defined capsule is noted around lesion.

Solid nodule is noted abutting wall at lower end of the lesion. This probably represents fat lobule. A septa is also present.

History, clinical examination and US Findings favour diagnosis of Morel Lavallée lesion  which is known by many other names such as pseudolipoma, pseudocyst, ancient hematoma, organizing hematoma, chronic expanding hematoma, and post traumatic soft tissue cyst.
