Presentation

Asymptomatic but abnormal chest radiograph.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years old
Gender: Female
Modality: CT

Large right side anterior mediastinal mass lesion that displays fat density and indents the right atrium. No contrast enhancement or infiltration of the adjacent structures. There is focal diaphragmatic defect seen on coronal images.

Case Discussion

Morgagni hernias are a congenital diaphragmatic hernia that occur mainly anteriorly on the right side. They usually contain omental fat, or less commonly colon or liver.
