Mucinous cystadenoma of the ovary

Presentation

Evaluation of a pelvic finding which was incidentally noted on a renal tract ultrasound.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female
ultrasound

There is a large unilocular cystic lesion in the left ovary with low level internal echoes and incomplete avascular septations. There are no papillary projections or solid components. The lesion measures 15 x 11 x 11 cm. 

Normal uterus and right ovary.

Case Discussion

At resection, this was confirmed to be a mucinous cystadenoma.
