Mucocele of the left maxillary antrum

Presentation

Nasal discharge; headache; case of recurrent sinusitis.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male

MRI through the paranasal sinuses demonstrates complete opacification of the left maxillary antrum. The content is isointense on T1, intermediate signal centrally and high signal peripherally on T2 and demonstrates only peripheral enhancement. The sinus is expanded slightly.

Features are consistent with a mucocele.
