The MRI sequences revealed a sphenoid mucocele of iso-to high signal intensity on T1WI, low signal intensity on T2WI (protein rich content) with peripheral enhancement on postcontrast sequences. It produces an expansile thinning of the surrounding bone with extension into the ipsilateral posterior ethmoid cells and choana. No evidence of optic nerve or cavernous sinus compression.
Filling of the left maxillary sinus and ipsilateral ethmoid cells (chronic sinusitis).
