Presentation

Left ankle pain with slight edema and redness. Pain upon palpation of the left mid-foot.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female

Bilateral comma-shaped navicular bones compatible with prior avascular necrosis (Mueller Weiss syndrome).

Selected images from an MRI of the left foot once again show the comma-shaped navicular bone suggesting Mueller Weiss syndrome. There is associated bone marrow edema and degenerative changes.
