Multifocal hepatoma

Known hepatic patient with high alpha fetoprotein levels.

Patient Data

Gender: Male

Enlarged cirrhotic liver with multiple right lobe hepatic focal lesions all of them show faint wash in of contrast on arterial phase with wash out of contrast on venous and delayed phases.

Moderate splenomegaly.

Thrombosed portal vein trunk as well as its main branches.


Case Discussion

Known patient with liver cirrhosis. Routine US exam described multiple hepatic focal lesions together with altered liver functions.

Triphasic CT shows multiple hepatic focal lesion with CT criteria suggestive of hepatoma together with elevated alpha fetoprotein level confirming the diagnosis.

Large hypodense thrombus is filling the lumen of the PV as well as its branches.
