Gender: Female
Modality: Ultrasound

Multinodular goitre with largest nodule in the right lobe measuring 33mm and being predominantly solid but complex. Total thyroid volume = 35.5 cc. 

Pertechnetate

Modality: Nuclear medicine

Heterogeneously mild increased uptake in the right lobe of the thyroid without discrete hot or cold nodule evident. 

Case Discussion

Multinodular goitre is a common cause of thyroid enlargement.
