Work up for trauma.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

An oblique fracture is present at the proximal phalanx of the third finger.

Incidental bipartite medial hallux sesamoid bone is also noted.

Case Discussion

Multipartite hallux sesamoids are a commonly seen normal variant, present in up to 33% of hallux sesamoids. They are more commonly bipartite than tripartite.
