Presentation
Hemoptysis and dyspnea with a history of breast cancer.
Patient Data
There are multiple solid masses with lobulated margin and heterogenous enhancement in both lungs and multiple enlarged mediastinal lymph nodes. Left mastectomy due to previous breast cancer. Note also multiple necrotic masses in the left axillary fossa compatible with metastatic axillary lymph nodes.
Case Discussion
The case is a 55-year-old female complaining about hemoptysis and dyspnea with a history of left side mastectomy and chemoradiation therapy due to breast cancer two years before. A contrast-enhanced multislice helical CT scan of lung and mediastinum was requested and multiple large solid masses within lungs and large mediastinal lymph nodes with heterogenous enhancement compatible with lung metastasis and metastatic mediastinal lymph nodes were found. Necrotic masses in the left axillary fossa compatible with metastatic axillary lymph nodes are also seen.
