A couple of sharply demarcated punched-out lesions in the right femur causing endosteal scalloping. The lesion in the proximal femoral shaft is causing significant cortical narrowing and increased fracture risk.
Case Discussion
Multiple myeloma lesions are usually purely lytic, sharply defined/punched out, with endosteal scalloping when abutting the cortex. When they are large, these lesions also increase the risk of pathological fractures. Whole-body low dose (WBLD) CT is more accurate than a skeletal survey with a sensitivity.
