Multiple pulmonary nodules

Diagnosis probable

Presentation

Tachypnea and shortness of breath

Patient Data

Age: 2 months
Gender: Male
x-ray

PA chest: extensive bilateral pulmonary nodules are noted with some overlapping. The nodules are of varying sizes with sharp margins.

Case Discussion

The differential diagnosis of multiple pulmonary nodules is broad and includes infectious, inflammatory, and neoplastic etiologies. Metastatic rhabdomyosarcoma is a consideration in this young child.

Neither primary neoplasm nor pathologic diagnosis is definitely known in this case.
