FLAIR hyperintense lesions involving:
- juxtacortical white matter;
- periventricular white matter (ovoid with some perpendicular to the long axis of the ventricles);
- corpus callosum.
Case Discussion
The distribution of the white matter lesions fulfills the McDonald criteria for dissemination in space. There are no infratentorial or spinal lesions in this case.
The case also illustrates the difference between subcortical and juxtacortical lesions. The importance of the differentiation is discussed here.
