Multiple uterine leiomyomas with red degeneration

Presentation

Pelvic pain.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Female

The uterus is diffusely enlarged with lobulated contours. Multiple intramural, and subserosal leiomyomas of various sizes, eliciting an isosignal to the myometrium on T1, low signal on T2 with moderate enhancement on postcontrast sequences. 

The largest leiomyoma is of fundal location (Figo 4), measuring 85 x 75 x 65 mm, eliciting a high signal on T1/T1 fat sat, heterogeneous high signal on T2 with a peripheral rim of low signal on T1 fat sat and on T2 with no significant enhancement on the postcontrast sequence.
