Muscle hernia - bilateral tibialis anterior at multiple levels

Presentation

Bilateral leg focal swellings for about the last 8 years. Pain for the last few wks.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male

At the of the swelling pointed by the patient, there are focal muscle protrusions from the fascial defects. There are three defects on the right side and three on the left side. They are along on the anterior lateral side of each leg. The largest defect measures about 15 mm. Color doppler shows a penetrating vessel at the site of one the hernias.

Case Discussion

The case shows multiple muscle hernias involving both legs.
