Mycotic aneurysm

Presentation

Presents with Staphylococcus Aureus bacteremia with a background of partially treated osteomyelitis.

6 cm mycotic aneurysm noted at the cardiac apex.

Case Discussion

4 year old boy partially treated for tibial osteomyelitis. Had well circumscribed mass in right lung probably empyema so CT Chest was arranged which showed multiple pneumatoceles consistent with S. aureus bacteremia but other significant lesion was noticed in the heart where a 6 cm mass noted in cardiac apex well communication with a pedicle with left ventricle which is most likely be to be mycotic aneurysm.
