Presentation

Lower back pain radiating to the left lower limb.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

Diffuse abnormal heterogeneous increased bone density is seen involving the spine and pelvic bones.

Straightening of the lumbar spine with anterior vertebral scalloping is seen.

Mild narrowing of L4-L5 disk space.

Heavy calcifications of the abdominal aortic wall is noted.

Case Discussion

This is a 70-year-old male, presented with chronic lower back pain radiating to the left lower limb known to have myelofibrosis. Lumbar spine and pelvis x-ray were requested. Increased bone density was seen involving pelvic and spine bones. Spine MRI examination was requested depicted L4-L5 disc protrusion compressing L5 nerve roots.
