Diagnosis probable

Patient Data

Gender: Female
x-ray

Well-circumscribed corticated structure adjacent to the left inferior public ramus. Findings of peripheral calcification and central lucency are compatible with the diagnosis of myositis ossificans. (The patient had a fracture of pubis in the past)

Case Discussion

Myositis ossificans is considered to be a 'no-touch' MSK lesion. In other words, it is an imaging diagnosis made by detecting the combination of peripheral ossification and central lucency - findings which mirror those seen in malignant lesions.
