Ultrasound examination of breast was normal.
Site of pain pointed by patient shows - thickened, hypervascular muscle fibers of sternal head of pectoralis major muscle, overlying anterior end of left 3rd rib. No solid / cystic mass lesion or collection is seen in affected area. Underlying rib does not show cortical breach. Overlying breast parenchyma is fatty.
Comparision with asymptomatic side was done.
Case Discussion
Findings suggest focal myositis affecting part of sternal head of pectoralis muscle.
