There is a metallic foreign body within the left second digit at the level of the middle phalanx with no bone involvement. No fracture or dislocation is detected.
Case Discussion
Apart from the routine views (i.e. frontal, oblique, lateral), obtaining an 'en-face' view or orthogonal projection when imaging foreign bodies can be useful in determining any bone and/or joint involvement.
If the foreign body is visible, position the central ray to follow the trajectory of the object.
