Nasal dermoid

Patient with delayed developmental milestones.

Patient Data

Age: 7 years
Gender: Female

No abnormality to explain the patient symptoms. Incidental finding of a small, well-defined area of high T1 signal intensity is noted at the roof of the nasal cavity just beneath the frontal lobe.

Case Discussion

Nasal dermoid is considered the most common among the midline congenital masses of the nose. Presentation is usually variable in timing, while it may present at birth it might remain undiscovered until childhood or early adulthood. It might be a solitary finding or  associated with a sinus opening into the skin.
