Presentation

Acutely short of breath in A & E. Middle of night. Busy shift.

Patient Data

Age: 47
Gender: Female
X-ray

In acute medical situations not all personal acessories are removed before x-rays are undertaken.

A necklace sporting the word 'Mum' is evident.

Case Discussion

Any personal acessories, such as jewelry, not removed may leave artifact on radiographs.

On occasion it may obscure pathology to the deteriment of patient care.
