Chronic Achilles tendon rupture

Presentation

Slip off curb over 3 months ago, complained of immediate heel pain and gait difficulty.

Patient Data

Age: 65 years

Complete Achilles tendon tear with a distal stump and retraction of the proximal end. Organized hematoma in place of the normal tendon. Note the intact plantaris tendon inserting into the medial tuber calcanei.
