Right foot deformity with inversion and plantar flexion, showing multiple osseous malformations:
- talocalcaneal coalition
- absent navicular bone
- absent cuboid and one of cuniform bones
- metatarsal aplasia, only four metatarsal bones and toes are seen
- hypoplastic second metatarsal bone and toes
The examination shows undisplaced fracture calcaneus with moderate soft tissue swelling.
Case Discussion
Congenital talipes equinovarus is seen in newborns and treatment usually starts within 1-2 weeks. It may be associated with other foot malformations and developmental disorders if untreated. It's rare to find an adult with such untreated malformation. This increases the incidence of foot fractures.
