Neonatal intracranial hemorrhage - grade 3

Both lateral ventricles are dilated and lined by echogenic material with more confluent echogenic change in dependant portions. Feautres here are of grade 3 germinal matrix hemorrhage.
Case Discussion
Germinal matrix hemorrhage is the leading cause of intraventricular hemorrhage in neonates and can be graded into 4 grades. Grade 3 IVH represents hemorrhage into the ventricular system that results in dilatation.
