Presentation
Patient presented with personality changes , psychosis
Patient Data
There is abnormal T1 hypointense, T2/FLAIR hyperintense signal affecting the right basal ganglia, both thalami (much more on the right), the right midbrain, and the right side of the pons. There is patchy enhancement affecting the right basal ganglia and right thalamus. No diffusion restriction.
Features are highly suggestive of neuro-Behcet's disease.
Case Discussion
In Behcet's disease, males are affected 2-5 times more often than females.
Brain MRI findings of neuro-Behcet's disease include multifocal lesions (as in this case), meningoencephalitis and cerebral venous thrombosis.
