Neurofibromatosis type 1 - optic nerve glioma and subcutaneous neurofibromas

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Female

The right optic nerve has high T2 signal and is thickened from the globe to the chiasm. The remainder of the brain is unremarkable, other than multiple stable regions of presumed chronic small vessel ischemic change. Extensive cutaneous and subcutaneous enhancing nodules.

Case Discussion

This patient has a known history of neurofibromatosis type 1 with optic nerve gliomas and subcutaneous neurofibromas typical manifestations.
