Presentation

Fell down stairs, directly hit the ulnar aspect of the left forearm.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

A displaced, oblique fracture is visible at the proximal border of the distal third of the ulna.

Case Discussion

A nightstick fracture is most commonly a defensive injury, but less violent causes, such as the hard edge of a stair can also result in this fracture.
