Nipple markers: solitary pulmonary nodule

Case contributed by Dr Ian Bickle

Medical fitness chest radiograph

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Female

1 cm well defined opacity projected between the right 5th and 6th ribs.

Bilateral nipple markers applied, the opacity is confirmed to not be a nipple and investigation is merited.

Case Discussion

Simple, but helpful, nipple markers play a role in confirming the origin of a radio-opacity on the chest film.
