Nodular filling defects in duodenal bulb

Presentation

Chronic malnutrition. Failure to gain weight.

Patient Data

Age: 15 years
Gender: Male

Multiple nodular filling defects with size upto 12mm are seen in duodenal bulb. Mild thickening of jejunal folds is also seen.

Case Discussion

The differentials for nodular filling defects in the duodenum include Brunner's gland hyperplasia, nodular lymphoid hyperplasia, multiple adenomas of familial adenomatous polyposis, hamartomas in Peutz-Jeghers syndrome, heterotopia, nodular duodenitis, carcinoid tumors, and metastatic disease.
