Presentation

History of "fall from couch". The history was not consistent with the imaging results.

Patient Data

Age: 3 years
Gender: Female
  • fractures of bilateral parietal bones and right temporal bone

  • bilateral parieto-temporal scalp swelling

  • collection in bilateral middle ear cavities

Findings were inconsistent with the history provided.

Case Discussion

Multiple skull fractures in a toddler with the absence of an 'appropriate' history of trauma, from the parents or caregivers should raise concern for non-accidental injury.
