Multiple fractures are seen involving the posterior ribs, bilaterally. The infant is intubated and NGT in situ.

A: 1) Metaphyseal fracture (so called bucket handle fracture or corner fracture) 2) Posterior rib fractures 3) Skull fracture 4) Scapular fractures and sternal fractures 5) Femoral fracture in non-ambulatory infant.

Posterior rib fractures are said to be a classic finding in non-accidental pediatric injuries.
