Presentation

50 year old male presenting with acute onset severe headache .

Modality: CT

Prepontine and right ambient cisternal SAH.

Case Discussion

Non-aneurysmal perimesencephalic haemorrhage is a distinct type of subarachnoid haemorrhage where the source of bleeding is venous. Blood is confined to the basal cisterns around the midbrain.

Cerebral angiogram is negative for a aneurysm.
