Recurrent headaches. History of non-fatal gunshot to the head 33 years ago.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Male

Bullet trajectory traversing both hemispheres is marked by gliosis and multiple bullet fragments. 

Case Discussion

Gun shot wounds to the head are frequently, but not invariably fatal. The distance from the gun, bullet speed, caliber and type of bullet, and of course the parts of the brain involved will impact the mortality risk.
