Non-Hodgkin-lymphoma of the palatine tonsils

Presentation

The patient complained of a sore throat and dysphagia for about 1 week.

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male

A 5 cm expansile mass in the left palatine tonsillar region that had no clear border or signal difference with the normal tonsillar tissue and enhanced mildly with Gadolinium contrast. The peripharyngeal tissues were displaced, not infiltrated. Lymphadenopathy of the submandibular and high jugular nodes was also present. 

Case Discussion

A malignant B-cell lyphoma was secured by biopsy and treated successfully with chemotherapy.
