Presentation

Abdominal pain, blood in stool.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Female

Colon wall thickening and edema with minor surrounding stranding from the splenic flexure through mid sigmoid colon. Hepatic hemangiomata. 

Case Discussion

The typical pattern of non-occlusive ischemic colitis - from the splenic flexure through mid sigmoid colon - similar pattern to the IMA. This could be reported as "descending colitis from the splenic flexure through the sigmoid colon in a pattern typical for non-occlusive ischemia".
