Shoulder x-ray demonstrates a well circumscribed lucency in the proximal end of the humerus. The margins are sclerotic. No periosteal reaction is present.
Case Discussion
Non-ossifying fibromas tend to present in adolescents and young adults ,with well defined lucent lesion with a sclerotic margin.
It is frequently an incidental finding when a radiograph is performed for alternative purposes, such as to assess for a fracture following trauma.
The differential includes; fibrous cortical defect, aneurysmal bone cyst, and fibrous dysplasia.
