History of trauma over left ankle , 2 days ago

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Male

Left ankle

x-ray

Multi-loculated radiolucent lesion with sclerotic rim noted in eccentric location at distal 1/3rd of diaphysis of left tibia.

No evidence of periosteal reaction,cortical breech or soft tissue prominence.

Case Discussion

Non-ossifying fibromas are most common type of non-neoplastic fibrous bone lesion seen in children and adolescents. Mostly found in the bones around knee or ankle. Majority of lesions are asymptomatic. Larger lesions are painful and predispose bone to pathological fractures.
