Non-specific interstitial pneumonia

Presentation

Cough and breath shortness. known case of systemic lupus erythematosus.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female

Symmetrical peripheral fine reticular opacities with traction bronchiectasis and ground glass opacities are seen at both lungs with lower lobes predominance. In addition, a few small fibrotic nodules are observed at both lungs less than 4mm. Some of them are calcified.

Case Discussion

In a patient with systemic lupus erythematosus features on CT scan are consistent with Non-specific interstitial pneumonia which is the second most common morphological and pathological pattern of interstitial lung diseases.
