Presentation

Limited range of motion at left elbow. History of fall one year ago.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

Abnormal radiocapitellar articulation with a large bone fragment positioned anteriorly.

Non-united capitellar fracture, displaced into the anterior joint space with the articular surface rotated to face posterosuperiorly. Cortical irregularity of the distal humerus in articulation with the radial head. Few further small intra-articular bodies in the region of the radiocapitellar articulation.

Case Discussion

This case is an example of a neglected capitellar fracture with resultant non-union and displacement of the fracture fragment. Why the fracture was not diagnosed/treated at the time of incident is not known.
