Proximal pole nonunion fracture of scaphoid bone associated with secondary subchondral cysts at the proximal and distal poles are seen.
Normal bone marrow signal in the proximal scaphoid pole without evidence of collapse or significant sclerosis is suggestive for scaphoid viability.
Case Discussion
T1 bone marrow signal is a useful sequence in the assessment of scaphoid viability but it is not always specific.
