Presentation
Suspected Alzheimer disease
Patient Data

Cerebellar grey-white differentiation is taken to be the normal reference point for the remainder of the cerebral cortex (the uptake in the cerebellar grey matter is low with clear grey white matter differentiation).
There is low tracer uptake in the cerebral grey matter, with clear grey white differentiation in the frontal, parietal, occipital and temporal lobes. These findings represent a RCTU (regional cortical tracer uptake) score of 1.
There is also clear definition of the white matter tracts running anteroposteriorly. These findings are indicative of absence of amyloid plaque deposition.
On the low-dose CT component, there is no regional volume loss.
Case Discussion
This is a negative scan for cerebral amyloid deposition.
