Normal lordotic/apical chest view for reference.

The apical chest view is often performed for evaluation of the apex of the lungs, in particular the region where the clavicles superimpose the lung fields. Therefore, it is important to ensure that the patient is positioned with adequate lordosis for the clavicles to be projected above the lung fields.
