Normal CT sialogram

Case contributed by Craig Hacking

Parotid swelling ? stricture

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Male

The right parotid duct was cannulated with a 24g cannula. A 50/50 mixture of Urografin and normal saline were instilled into the duct, total 2ml. The patient was scanned pre- and post- contrast administration.

There is asymmetry of the parotid glands, slightly bulkier on the right, however no sialolith, nor focal parotid duct stenosis or ectasia is identified within the right parotid gland. There is a normal branching pattern to the duct within the parotid gland. No surrounding inflammatory stranding.

Normal appearing intra-parotid lymph nodes noted bilaterally.
