Nuclear Medicine HIDA scan shows hepatic uptake and excretion of radiotracer into hepatic/bile duct, gall bladder (inferior to the liver) and bowel, indicating a patent cystic duct.

Case Discussion

Opacification of the gallbladder indicates a patent cystic duct and makes cholecystitis unlikely.
