Neck pain post fall.

Patient Data

Age: 52
Gender: Male
ct

No acute cervical spine fracture or malalignment demonstrated. Prevertebral soft tissues are within normal limits.

Incidental note of anterior arch of C1 ossicle and nuchal ligament sesamoid. Multilevel degenerative change.

Case Discussion

This case demonstrates two anatomical variants that should not be mistaken for pathology:

  • nuchal ligament sesamoid
  • ossicle at the anterior arch of C1
