Presentation

Attempted suicide by hanging, laryngeal edema, slurred speech. Neurologically stable.

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Male

CT Head

Pointed bony projection arising at external occipital protuberance.

No fracture or lytic/sclerotic lesion.

Case Discussion

This is an incidentally discovered occipital spur, which has been asymptomatic so far. As such, no specific treatment or follow-up is presently necessary.
